Dear Soldier,

You have in your hands the most powerful weapon in the world – most powerful to destroy evil, and most powerful to protect and promote what is right, fair, just and good.  All you have to do is use it.  You learn to use it by using it.  If you read it for even a few minutes a day, it will make you wiser than most everyone you know.  It will teach you to know what is best and to enjoy what is best. 

Read Psalms to learn how to talk to God. 

Read Proverbs to gain the best thing – wisdom. 

Read the Gospels to meet Jesus.  There is no one like Him.  Listen to His outrageous claims.  Observe His invitation and promises.  No one ever spoke like He did. 

Read Acts to see what God’s Spirit did in the early church. 

Read Romans to hear the central message – the good news. 

Read Ecclesiastes about the fallen world we live in. 

Read Job about suffering.  Thank you for serving our country! 

I encourage you above all to serve the Lord.  He will give you , and make you to be, and enable you to do, far more than you can ask or imagine.  Seek Him!
